What can counselling help with?
Neurodivergent identity
Neurodivergent identity refers to the unique ways in which individuals' brains function and process information, which may differ from the "neurotypical" majority. This term encompasses various conditions, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and others.
Being neurodivergent in a “neurotypical” world can be exhausting, overwhelming and distressing at times. Your unique perspective and self-awareness will influence your reason for considering counselling.
How counselling will help
Working collaboratively will involve developing and affirming your identity. Together, we will identify your aspirations and work towards a harmonious balance between your authentic self and the reality you experience.
A neurodivergent affirmative counselling approach means we will work within your reality and lived experience, ensuring your well-being and personal growth remain the focus of your therapy. There is no assumption that your neurodivergent identity is a problem. There is an awareness of the complex ways neurodivergence affects the issues you face and the ways that best help you resolve them.
